day 182

Day 182
Prompt 182
“Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind.”
- Henry James

We had a lovely family weekend doing lots of things this weekend, and most of all bar a tiny glitch we were being kind to one another. This is one of the shots we took whilst playing yesterday and I just loved it for being kind! All 3 to all 3.

Here is my LO26 a rebellion as I didn't want to scrap my grill pan!

Day 180
Prompt 180
"The Heart, the Brain and the Body"
What do yours say about you?

This piccy captures today's antics to a tee. It took a lot of heart for me to play cos DD wanted me to. A large part of my brain was saying no! and my body took a severe beating but oh boy was it fun.

day 179

Day 179
Prompt 179
"Past, Present, Future"
Lets look at our past, present and future. Try and capture with a photo or 3, and journal

Oh this made me think but then the light bulb switched on! This is the only large item I have left, the past. The present is the one I'm wearing now. The future is the one I'm just sneaking into, and hope to be really comfortable in in another couple of months.

Day 177
Prompt 177

"See no Evil, Hear no Evil, Speak no Evil"
The saying is typically associated with three monkeys one covering his eyes, one covering his ears, and the other covering his mouth it is believed that the saying may have its origin in a 17th century temple in Japan.

This one says it all! My friends helped me out being three in one is a bit tricky.

Day 176
Three is a Magic number, and our theme for this weeks quotes.
Prompt 176
"The Good, The Bad and The Ugly"
Show me your 3 sides!

Oh the three sides of me... Well here they are

1. White chocolate the bad I'd love to just polish this off but am trying so hard with the weight that it'd be daft.

2. The SW cook book is the good, I just need to use them more often, the weeks I use them religiously I do really well.

3. The ugly is the washing up from tea, the ugliest sight in the world when I come back home at 10 at night GRRRRRRRRRRR

day 175

Day 175
Prompt 175
"Say the word and you'll be free Say the word and be like me Say the word I'm thinking of Have you heard the word is love? It's so fine, It's sunshine It's the word, love In the beginning I misunderstood But now I've got it, the word is good"
- The Word, Lennon and McCartney
Layout 25
Choose your favourite lyrics from this week and scrap!

I've lucked out here today I scrapped this pic from prompt 173 last night because I liked it and here I go it's al ready for being LO 25. I am really thrilled as now I can continue with another project.

Today's prompt immeadiately made me think of the only way I'm managing at the moment, my eternal to do lists! I can't cope without them. If it's not on there it doesn't happen.

Sunday, 22 June 2008

day 174

Day 173
Prompt 173
"Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can

No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man

Imagine all the people Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one

I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one" - Imagine , John Lennon

Strong Lyrics, but lets imagine a day with no possesions, no war, no anger, what would today be like?

Oh wouldn't this be wonderful. I can't imagine what our life would be like not having the constant shadow hanging over us of where my DB is and what he's having to do, let alone whether he'll come home safe again this time. I know this is purely selfish but as we lost his best friend and some other very close friends of his a couple of years ago, it's the way I automatically think when I am faced with this type of prompt. I can't even dream how awful it is for my parents. They have spent their lives trying to do the best for us, and at their age having to sent him off time after time must be appaling.

The other part of the prompt, regarding no possesions or anger, this I could only dream of for my DD. The world would undoubtedly be a better place with more tolerance and understanding and I can't help thinking that this would be helped enormously without the envy attached to ownership of possesions.

day 173

Day 173
Prompt 173
"Turn off your mind, relax and float down stream, It is not dying, it is not dying
Lay down all thoughts, surrender to the void, It is shining, it is shining.
Yet you may see the meaning of within It is being, it is being
Love is all and love is everyone It is knowing, it is knowing
And ignorance and hate mourn the dead It is believing, it is believing
But listen to the colour of your dreams It is not leaving, it is not leaving
So play the game "Existence" to the end Of the beginning, of the beginning"
- Tomorrow Never Knows , Lennon

This one stumped me for a while, I read it time and time again, and then it hit me. I am playing the game of Existance as I'm currently running close to the edge as I'm so overtired. I need to heed my friends warnings and slow down. But most of my major commitments are done now, it's just back to a few extra hours and normal daily life.

I went to my dear friends 30th birthday party last night, the one Sal and I did the invites for a few weeks back. I didn't really want to go but felt I had to, but we had a lovely time, DD playing witha confetti gun all evening and Sal and I taking silly photo's of one another. We left the younger people to it early, popting for well deserved bed. I now am going to scrap the day away around cooking and washing, but at my own slow pace today!

day 172

Day 172
Prompt 172
"It's been a hard day's night, and I been working like a dog It's been a hard day's night, I should be sleeping like a log But when I get home to you I'll find the things that you do Will make me feel alright"
- Hard Days Night , Lennon
What kind of day have you had?

Exhausting and it's not over yet! Year 1 all day and epipen training at lunch time too. Off tonight to run a charity race night for a friends brain injury charity, so BBQ for 100 coming up.

day 171

Day 171
Prompt 171
"When I get older losing my hair, Many years from now. Will you still be sending me a valentine Birthday greetings bottle of wine. If I'd been out till quarter to three Would you lock the door, Will you still need me, will you still feed me, When I'm sixty-four."
- When I'm sixty four, McCartney
A great lyric to reflect on relationships or maybe the future

Well it's DH who is losing his hair and going grey, but that's been happening since he was 16 poor love. We do still send valentines, birthday greetings and especially a bottle of wine. He came in at gone 2 in the morning just last thursday and I didn't lock the door, I still feed him and definately need him, and can't see that changing in the next 21 years that will take us to 64. He's fab and I tell him more and more.

day 170

Day 170
Prompt 170
"In Penny Lane there is a barber showing photographs Of every head he's had the pleasure to know. And all the people that come and go Stop and say hello"
- Penny Lane, Lennon and McCartney
Time to reflect on where we live

I live in a lovely quiet close of only 16 houses. We are in a hamlet that has a pub and no Church. We have no street lights and on a clear night our view of the stars is astounding. I love it here for it's peace and serenity. I do worry about DD not having friends close by but am more than happy to take her where ever she needs to go. Talking of barbers it's nearly time for a trim, so here's the head shot showing the hair that needs a trim.

day 169

Day 169
Its The Fab Four week!
Prompt 169
"I heard the news today, Oh Boy"
- A Day in the Life - Beatles
What headline, made the news for you today?

Here I am watching the news and trying to catch up on whats happening in the world. It's so easy to get so involved in the every day that it can be easy to neglect the wider picture. I keep abreast of some issues more than others, especially the situation in Afganistan as my DB has just gone back there for a month again. The headline about the inflation figure being it's highest in a long time worried me as we are currently re-mortgaging which is not the usual easy business we've had every tine we've completed it before.

LO 24

Here is my day 166 prompt photo, with pictures of the LO I created in the amazing engineering class from Karen Burniston. She is toally awesome to use an expression from her own country. I was taken straight back to childhood and felt in awe let alone wonder at the knowledge and skill involved in her kits, creations and classes.

day 168

Day 168
Prompt 168
“Occasionally in life there are those moments of unutterable fulfillment which cannot be completely explained by those symbols called words. Their meanings can only be articulated by the inaudible language of the heart.”
—Martin Luther King, Jr. (1929-1968), minister, civil rights activist

I am still on such a high from the weekend I cannopt stop thinking about it. I have so many idea's buzzing around in my head, I feel I may explode. I Can only imagine that this is what this prompt is all about I do feel totally fulfilled and I really can't express it in words. I think it may be visible in my face though.

The reception I got from my family when I came home though really topped it off, they were so thrilled to see me and my projects that it made the whole package complete. Thanks you two I love you both!

“We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.”
- Thornton Wilder (1897–1975), playwright, novelist

My heart is full to overflowing with being totally aware of my treasured weekend, of the time away to scrap to my hearts content, of the company of my best friends. Of superb teachers and classes as well as fantastic organisation, and very friendly people all around us. I really do feel totally alive even on half the sleep I normally get!

“If a child is to keep alive his inborn sense of wonder, he needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with him the joy, excitement and mystery of the world we live in.”
—Rachel Carson (1907-1964), marine biologist,
Rediscover the joys of being a child today

Oh I certainly managed this one today and will do all weekend. We are away at Scrap-a-ganza Stratford and the classes take me right back to being a child feeling so full of awe and wonder at what we will do and how we will do it. The engineering in Karen Burniston's kits in particular are a real feat and need some serious scrapping to complete!

“Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead. ”
— Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888), novelist

I don't have very high aspirations I must be honest. I live fairly day to day and week to week. We sometimes discuss ours plans for the future but not enough we are bad at planning overall. I wish for DD to attend Uni if that is what she still wants in 5-6 years time. I aspire to a healthy and happy retirement actually being able to do all the things I want to do!

— George Eliot [Mary Ann Evans] (1819-1880), novelist

We all know our true friends hopefully, they are truely these special people that we can feel totally ease with. The ones that we don't have to speak to, that we can read the non - verbal communication's of, the ones that know us so well. The most important of these to me is me DH.

Having never been too keen on boat shoes DD and I really struck gold with Crocs as DH is fine with them on the boat, and we just love them. They are so light and cool, a pure pleasure to wear - very clever of the inventor!

day 159

Day 159
Prompt 159
Higgledy Piggledy -
Somedays when life is quite higgledy-piggledy then you are the only person who can help. I like: cheese on toast and palates.

Life has been rather higgledy piggledy the last few weeks, what with inspection end of term, being poorly and training. I sometimes cope well with this and sometimes sink fast as I like order. I always cope well with flexibility at work or home but struggle with them both being out of the norm at the same time IYKWIM. I know I'm the only person who can help me, and I work hard at trying to get through these areas without losing my cool. I aim to minimise stress in my life which isn't easy when others around me are struggling more and need my help even when I know I really need to step back. As long as I have my family and good friends I know I will get there though, so the light at the end of the tunnel is definately clearer and nearer!
I thought I'd wear a higgeldy piggledy hat for you today as I never wear hats and it represents the dis-order that's been all round me recently.

day 158

Day 158
Prompt 158
Soul -
Your soul is a good one, i know when it shines in your eyes. I like: motorbikes

My dog Ollie was being my soul mate tonight as he often is if there is even a hint of thunder in the air, or fireworks. This is the only time when he's a mummy's dog. But tonight was definately one of them, so much so that my foot went dead allowing him to sit holding it between his paws. Even when i got up for a comfort break and came back he made DH laugh that he just got straight back into this holding postion. I know his soul is a good one and it shines straight out of his devoted and trusting eyes.

We lie on our backs watching the clouds. Our lovely day. I like: old black and white movies, travelling to far off lands

Prompt 155
Chatting -
Your chatting with me under the sky makes me always smiling. I like: disco and thunderstorms.

I'll take the chatting for ten please... I have spent the day attending an inset on language disorders/problems. I have never had such a valuable time. I have loads of information to deal with phonological issues some of my children are experiencing and the inforamtion and techniques covered to help with my two selective mutes is a gold mine in it's self. I'm so glad a specialist friend of mine got me an invite to this session and my boss let me go, I'm so fired up with ways to help these children unlock their ability to CHAT that I can't wait to put it into practise. It's going to be a very slow process I know but every journey starts with a single step as they say.

LO 22

Here's my LO for my "always let your conscience be your guide" Pinnochio quote. I have hidden the quote behind the ticket as I wanted to scrap these photo's anyway and thought I'd kill two birds so to speak. This is also me completing the challenge Shirley set before going into hospital. So three in one really.

day 153

Day 154
Prompt 154
"They thing that makes me different, are the things that make me me"
- Winnie the Pooh
What makes you YOU?

This is easy my DD does. I am adopted and never realised until I had my beautiful baby how strongly I felt the need for a real family of my own that was truely related to me. I have wonderful parents whom I adore, but I still only feel that DD belongs to my DH and I. She is also equally proud of being my only blood. ( She is sleeping off a crash from a friends bike this evening hence the padded up arm!)

Sunday, 1 June 2008

day 153

Day 153
Prompt 153
"Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen closely."
-The Land Before Time

I let my heart guide me all too often! That's mostly why I don't say no enough. I love people and need to feel loved too, so I can be over eager to please although I have countered this somewhat in recent years purely for self preservation. I hope it doesn't make me have an edge though I still really care that people like me.
